Pidie Jaya — A student from Imam Syafi’i Islamic Boarding School in Banda Aceh has once again achieved success at the provincial-level Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur’an (MTQ). At the 37th Aceh MTQ held in Pidie Jaya Regency, M. Hanif Baihaqi, a 12th-grade student at MA Imam Syafi’i, won First Place in the Fahmil Qur’an category as part of the Banda Aceh City team.
In the competition, Hanif collaborated with Farhan Ridhallah from RIAB and Chalif Auliya from MUQ Pagar Air. The team performed consistently from the preliminary rounds to the finals,
The Banda Aceh contingent also showed strong performances in several other categories, supported by the Mayor of Banda Aceh, Hj. Illiza Sa’aduddin Djamal, who attended the event in person. Her encouragement and the city government's support were seen as an important morale boost for the participants.
This achievement marks an important milestone for Imam Syafi’i Islamic Boarding School, which continues to encourage its students to take an active part in religious competitions at both regional and provincial levels. The school views MTQ not merely as a contest, but as a means of character building and strengthening love for the Qur’an.
With this success, Imam Syafi’i Islamic Boarding School hopes that more students will be inspired to deepen their understanding of the Qur’an and live by its teachings in their daily lives.
