Banda Aceh, September 26, 2023 - On Tuesday, students from class 10 and 11 of Pesantren Imam Syafi'i's Madrasah Aliyah (MA) embarked on an exciting educational adventure by participating in an outing class learning activity at the Department of Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at Syiah Kuala University (USK). This event marked a valuable moment for the students to get a closer look at the academic world at one of the renowned universities in Aceh and even Sumatra.
The outing class activity took place with high spirits and enthusiasm, guided from the very beginning by the Head of the Department of Physics, Dr. Saumi Syahreza, and Dr. Mursal, who serves as the Head of the Basic Physics Laboratory. Both of them warmly welcomed the Pesantren students, with Dr. Mursal also providing an introduction to the activities that would be conducted in the laboratory.
The students from Pesantren Imam Syafi'i participated attentively in this activity. They were invited to get a closer look at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MIPA) at USK, a faculty widely recognized for its achievements in the fields of science and technology. This faculty offers a variety of study programs, including Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Pharmacy, Statistics, and Informatics. The students gained insights into the diverse range of study programs they can choose from in the future.
Furthermore, the students were also introduced to the MIPA Laboratory, equipped with modern facilities and advanced equipment. This laboratory introduction provided the students with an overview of how scientific experiments are conducted at the university level.
The highlight of this outing class was the basic physics laboratory session. The students actively participated in this practical session under the guidance of professors and laboratory assistants. They learned how to apply fundamental physics concepts in practical experiments, enhancing their understanding and ability to apply physics knowledge effectively.
