Aceh Besar, November 12, 2025 — The PIS Open Kadispora Cup Archery Championship 2025 officially opened today at the Imam Syafi’i Islamic Boarding School Complex, Ruhat Tuha Village, Sukamakmur District, Aceh Besar. The event features a student-level archery competition with 10 categories competing for the Kadispora Aceh Besar Cup, involving more than 500 participants from various regions across Aceh and North Sumatra.
The championship is organized by Pesantren Imam Syafi’i in collaboration with Khalifah Archery, and fully supported by the Department of Youth and Sports (Dispora) of Aceh Besar.
The opening ceremony was officially inaugurated by Mr. Safrizal, S.Sos, representing the Head of Dispora Aceh Besar, specifically from the Sports Division. The event was attended by representatives of the Indonesian Archery Association (Perpani) Aceh Besar Branch, representatives of KONI Aceh Besar, teachers, invited guests, as well as hundreds of participants and coaches from various schools and Islamic boarding schools.
In his speech, the Principal of Imam Syafi’i Islamic Boarding School, Ustaz Teuku Tommy Yanuar, stated that this event is not only a competition but also a platform for character development and fostering sportsmanship among the younger generation.
Archery is one of the best sports that trains focus, patience, and discipline. We hope this championship will encourage students to keep practicing and competing with true sportsmanship,” he said.
The tournament will run for five days, from November 12 to 16, 2025, featuring various distance and age categories. After the opening ceremony, the event continued with a practice day for all participants.
Award ceremonies for the winners will be held each afternoon after the completion of respective categories. This serves as a direct form of appreciation for outstanding participants and helps boost enthusiasm and healthy competition among students.
The main goal of this championship is to foster a young generation that is healthy, disciplined, and passionate about archery, while also strengthening ties among students from Aceh and North Sumatra through a positive and educational sporting event.
With strong support from various stakeholders, the PIS Open Kadispora Cup Archery Championship 2025 is expected to mark the revival of archery among students and Islamic schools, reinforcing the role of educational institutions in shaping excellent, high-achieving, and morally upright youth.
