Palembang, 5 September 2023 – Santri Imam Syafi’i kelas XI MA Mursyidan Zafiri berhasil mencetak prestasi gemilang dalam Pekan Olahraga Pelajar Nasional (POPNAS XVI). Ajang yang berlangsung di Palembang sejak tanggal 26 Agustus hingga 4 September 2023 ini mempertandingkan cabang olahraga panah Divisi Recurve 70 M Mix Team Recurve.
In the competition, the student representing Aceh displayed an impressive performance. Thanks to dedication and rigorous training, they secured a Silver Medal in the archery competition. This achievement not only brings joy to the student but also to Imam Shafi'i Pesantren, which consistently supports and promotes sunnah sports in its educational activities.
Imam Shafi'i Pesantren is committed to embodying the traditions of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in the daily lives of its students. One emphasized tradition is archery, as per the Prophet's saying: "Teach your children horseback riding, swimming, and archery" (Narrated by Bukhari/Muslim). The pesantren also draws inspiration from another saying of the Prophet that encourages involvement in archery: "Shoot arrows and ride horses" (Narrated by Muslim).
The outstanding achievement of this student is a tangible testament to Imam Shafi'i Pesantren's efforts to encourage students to develop themselves not only in religious matters but also in the realm of sports. With this outcome, the pesantren is further motivated to provide continuous support and archery training to its students, enabling them to become exemplary in applying the Prophet's traditions in modern life.
With this accomplishment, Imam Shafi'i Pesantren hopes to inspire all its students to continue excelling and applying religious teachings in all aspects of life, including the world of sports.
